The Water Transport Union in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region celebrated the Leningrad Victory in a sporting way

In St. Petersburg and Lodeynoye Pole, members of the Union of Water Transport Workers of the Russian Federation (UTW) celebrated the upcoming 82nd anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade by participating in commemorative sports events. For example, the trade union activists of the Svirsky District of Hydroelectric Facilities and Shipping (SRGSI) of the Federal Budgetary Institution "Administration of the Volga-Baltic Basin of Inland Waterways" took part in the traditional run through the memorial sites of the city of Lodeynoye Pole, while representatives of the trade union organization of the Central Research Institute of the Maritime Fleet (TsNIIMF) participated in the "Road of Life" Marathon.

"We are particularly impressed by the participation of our colleague, Alexandra Alexandrovna Kulichenko, an employee of the Russian State University for the Humanities and Social Sciences, in the race. She is not only an active member of our trade union, but also a professional athlete and runner. Her personal example inspires many people. Her constant participation in the race is a testament to the high level of responsibility that every citizen has towards the history of their homeland. In addition, the race has become another vivid example of the continuity of generations and patriotism, uniting participants in a common effort to honor the memory of the defenders of Leningrad," comments Elena Sveshnikova. Meanwhile, in the Northern Capital, members of the PRVT participated in the famous "Road of Life" marathon. According to the employees of the Central Research Institute of Marine Fisheries, this is a race that should not be missed. "The 'Road of Life' marathon is just one example of memorable events that allow us to experience the incredibly difficult conditions in which people saved the city. The heroic deeds of our people in saving lives and Leningrad itself are priceless. As is tradition, our trade union members, the employees of the Central Research Institute of Marine Fisheries, participated in this important event. Victoria Gnezdnikova and Maria Platonova covered 10 kilometers, while Dmitry Konovalov covered 42.2 kilometers! We sincerely congratulate our dear athletes, and we are proud and respectful of them," concludes Elena Sveshnikova.
